About Antoinette (Toni) Cosentino

My name is Antoinette Cosentino, though most people call me Toni. For over 40 years, I have dedicated my career to elementary education, teaching kindergarten through third grade and serving as principal for nine years at two elementary schools. Throughout my career, I've embraced technology as a powerful teaching tool, using Google Classroom to help students create presentations, write effectively, conduct research, and express their ideas with confidence.

My Passion for Helping Struggling Learners

Even as a third-grader, I knew I wanted to become a teacher. I noticed that many educators focused primarily on high-achieving students, while children who struggled academically often didn't receive the individualized support they desperately needed. This observation sparked a lifelong commitment to helping every child succeed.

A Personal Mission

My dedication to supporting struggling learners became deeply personal when our son faced academic challenges throughout elementary school. At the end of sixth grade, testing revealed he was dyslexic. That same year, a teacher crushed his spirit by telling him "he wouldn't amount to anything"—words that fueled my determination to ensure no child would ever feel that way again.

My Teaching Philosophy

From that moment forward, my mission became clear: to provide extra support for children struggling with reading, math, phonics, and writing, whether before school, during the day, or after hours. I believe every child can succeed—they just need the right approach and encouragement.

Today's Goal

My passion remains unchanged: to help children build confidence, experience academic success, and discover their own unique abilities. Every child deserves to feel capable and valued, and I'm committed to making that happen, one student at a time.
